Project Planning with Play Services at RMCH

This month our freelance Project Manager, Kate Catling, visited Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital for an in-person catch up with Susan Fairclough, Therapeutic and Specialised Play Service Manager, Youth Service Manager and Events Lead. The Songbirds music programme at RMCH led by Ros and Mark, dates back to 2005 and this long-standing partnership has been supported by Susan and her team throughout this time. Susan not only oversees the practicalities of the music programme at RMCH but also provides pastoral care and support for the SMUK team, acting as a vital link between SMUK and the hospital community. Kate dropped off a number of printed reports and articles for Susan and her team to use as they advocate for the music programme internally and externally and they spent valuable time catching up on projects, planning future music residencies and brainstorming fundraising ideas.
