SMUK are recruiting for new musicians in January 2023!
As part of our Taking Wing project which is a 3 year programme funded by Youth Music, we have an exciting opportunity for 4 new musicians to join the SMUK team!
In the new year we are recruiting 2 Songbirds Associates who will be mid-career musicians with some experience already of delivering music-making with families and children with disabilities and complex needs in healthcare and community settings, who have a desire to build their leadership and mentoring skills. We will also be recruiting 2 Songbirds Young Creators (SYC) who are emerging musicians and aged 18 – 25 years old, and enthusiastic about building skills and knowledge delivering music in healthcare and community settings with children and families.
Each SYC will be paired with a Songbirds Associate who will take a lead and mentor the SYC, working together to deliver either in-person music making sessions on the wards of Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital or remote music sessions with families in Salford. Training and support will be provided by Songbirds Music UK.
