Olivia joins the SMUK team!

We would like to give a warm welcome to, Olivia, a recent graduate from RNCM and the newest addition to the SMUK team, joining us as a volunteer:

Hi, I’m Olivia and I’m a musician that has recently graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music. I sing, play the piano, guitar and ukulele. I love getting involved in music in the community. It’s so great to see how accessible and inclusive it can be. During my 3rd year at the RNCM, I chose to do my placement with Songbirds. Although these sessions were all online, I was fascinated with how Mark and Ros used music in their work. I thoroughly enjoyed the activities we participated in and hearing first-hand accounts of how this way of using music had impacted them. I knew that by the end of the placement that I wanted to look further into this type of music-making. I am so excited to be volunteering with Songbirds. I’m most looking forward to see how unique the music-making to each individual, the ways it can be adapted to suit the individual’s needs.
