Successful appointment of 4 new Songbirds musicians for our Taking Wing programme!

Earlier this month we spent a day interviewing musicians for 4 new posts - 2 Songbirds Associates and 2 Songbirds Young Creators. The musicians will work in pairs, in-person delivering sessions to children and families on the wards at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital and remotely to families in the Salford community. This project is part of Taking Wing; a 3-year programme funded by Youth Music. We were really impressed with the quality and standard of all the applications we received and we are really excited to welcome Lynsey, Rosie, Jodie and Hephzibah to our team. The musicians will take part in 2 days of training with us learning about their roles and our work and the settings they will be working in, before going on to plan and deliver sessions on hospital wards and remotely. We'd like to thank Contact for their generous support in offering us a space for the day of interviews. We are really looking forward to working with our new musicians and will be posting more as the project develops!
